So how exactly do you check IV's? I've never really understood it when people trade off eggs saying "with 31 attack IV's" or something

Only breed using Friend Safari pokemon. Use the IV judge in Kiloude. Any stats he says followed by "they simply can't be beat" are 31.

People have been using Friend Safari pokemon which are guaranteed to have at least 2 IVs at 31.

The NPC in Kiloude's Pokemon Center will gauge them. He'll list which 2+ stats are perfect.

What he does is list the highest stat(s) and say if if they're good or great. If they're perfect then he'll say that they can't be beaten.

Pokemon holding a power item will pass down the related stat's IV 100% of the time too.

So how do you differentiate between IVs of 30 and IVs of 0? I'd like to use a Pokémon with IVs of 31, but I won't use it if the others stats are 0.

In that guide...about the Destiny Knot. Just thought I'd let you guys know that you can get several Destiny Knots in the game. In Lumiose City, just wander the streets. There's this reoccurring NPC you can battle that gives you a Destiny Knot when she loses.

You'll know its her because she talks about how she lost someone a long time ago. I got at least 4 DKs from her so far.

Assuming the pokemon's base stats are known, you can plug them into a calculator as you level them up with rare candies (you can always reset). As you plug in values you'll eventually be able to narrow the range. But really you only need that kind of precision if you're looking for a Hidden Power type.

To put on each of your useful Dittos I guess? Saves the few seconds it takes to pull it off your one Ditto and put it on another.

So let me get this straight.

If I want to raise an army of Modest Eevees all I need is a Pokemon with Synchronize w/ Modest nature to be the lead of my party when I go catching Eevees?

Well yeah, so you instantly get a desired nature if a Sync Pokemon is the lead and you get the nature of that Pokemon? That's really nice to know and explains why all my recent Safari captures have been Modest.
