Before B2/W2's reveal I was cheering for Gray, before X/Y's reveal I was cheering for Gen 6.
Why have a remake on a DS when you could have it on a 3DS, and why start a new gen with a remake?

I think there's also a decent possibility that we'll get Kanto stuck onto something for 3DS since they've remade it for every system so far.

Weren't the re-makes released to celebrate the 10 year anniversaries of their Japanese releases?

What I expect GF will do is release Ruby/Sapphire remakes next year (since they already have all the models for the pokemon -- they just need to remake the region), then release Pokemon Z in 2015 (since, again, they already have all the models barring any new pokemon they create for Z), which gives them a total of 3 years to work on Gen VII -- hopefully adding more than 69 pokemon this time.
