It has 150 base speed.
He will outspeed anything that isn't a scarfer.
I actually see it as a really good Mega killer, you know Megas won't be scarfed and he's the fastest of them all (tied with Mega Aerodactyl)

I guess you're both right.
Still, he can fuck up Mega Gengar (while also copying its ability) and Mega Blaziken (same thing), which seem to be ruling the metagame at the moment.

Timid Gengar outspeeds unless the Alakazam goes timid too.

It's funny how Alakazam's and Gengar's dance still continue after almost 20 years.

Regular Alakazam is good enough. Magic Guard and a focus sash makes him a deadly late game sweeper.

I'm really liking Mega Venasaur. Only two weaknesses and a movepool with ridiculous stall potential. Only downside is no leftovers.

I've fought mega venasaurs and I've fought normal ones.

Ones with leftovers/black sludge are much harder to crack.

I haven't used mega alakazam, but I've fought a few.

Honestly, I'd just put a focus sash on him and not go mega.
He dies in 1 hit, that hit usually being on the turn he goes mega, where he can still be outsped.

If you really want to run mega alakazam you'll need a substitute or something, because if someone has a priority move then he is dead.

Mega evolution has priority, so if your mon is naturally faster than Alakazam, but slower than Mega Alakazam, Mega Alakazam is going to move first.

Many of the megas are just fun.
Power Up Punch with Mega Khan is very nice.

Unleashing a Mega Mawile on people is so nice.
Even moreso when I get off a swords dance. then it turns into
NO SURVIVORS

Agreed. Mega Kangaskhan has some serious potential with 100/100/100 defenses, access to double Fake out and, the dealbreaker, Double powerup-punch.
If only Parental bond also added Scrappy effects.

Yes, the lack of leftovers really hurts. I suppose it depends on how the meta forms up - if there's a lot of fire then going Mega would help him a lot.
The extra defense and offense from Mega is quite nice, though.
