Praise babbyjesus. So Mega Evos are not just straight upgrades? What sort of benefits do they give?

They are upgrades in most cases, except that you can't use any items on them since they have to hold the mega stone.

Base HP stays at 70
Att: 130->150
Def: 100->140
SpA: 55->65 (lol like anybody cares)
SpD: 80->100
Spe: 65->75

The stats updates are really decent. It's more defensive than CB Scizor (faster though). It's got nice Att boost that while doesn't totally offset CB, comes without locking you into one attack. It has pros and cons. Your call, really.

Better stats, sometimes a better ability. Mega Mawile is pretty much a straight upgrade, while something like Mega Scizor is more of a bonus, it's better for bulkier sets but less suited for pure offense. Personally, I still don't know which to run.
