In fact, all this has gone to show is that gamefreak is completely out of new ideas, and that even with an entire new type added to the game they could positively care less about anything new or interesting being introduced to a very stale meta.
So yes, expect another new type or two meant to draw in young females and other 9-11 which is the demographic pokemon caters to.
