How in the hell do you people have time for this?

Seriously, I just spent the best part of two hours catching dittos, sifting through them to find the ones with "couldn't be better" IVs, sifting through THEM to get the one with the nature I needed, then spent the rest of the time hatching eggs in the hopes that maybe all the stats will somehow align to give me the best mon I can possibly get. And the thing is, I WANT to do it, but my God, it just takes so much time. I get the concept of work ethic, but in the end what am I getting? A superior section of data, that's specific only to a series of children's games. And even that won't mean much come December, when the rest of the world can throw their hacked-mons into the bank and transfer them over to X & Y.

I'm having a Pokexistential crisis. Please help restore my faith and remind me of why we do this?
