Question about the fishing method. How do I know its working besides finding a shiny? Can someone explain in detail how to do it. I looked at the picture and it said that a surfing pokemon is required but in the picture he shows a spot to where he isn't surfing. Do I have to be surfing to be able to get the chain going or does it just have to be in a corner?

The rock part was mentioned in the game that you will get more bites (aka not breaking the chain). So face a rock/wall, get as close as possible, and fish. I can provide a pic as soon as I find another shiny in this new spot I'm trying on route 8.
