What I do:
>Have Magikarp lead with smoke
>Throw Quick Ball first turn
>Switch to Breloom 2nd turn
>Use False Swipe 3rd turn

>Use Dusk Ball or Repeat Ball on 5th turn
Are there better pokemon to lead with in X and Y for capturing dittos now? Magikarp levels fairly fast, so at level 20 I have to cancel evolve after 2-3 captures, which slows things down a lot.
Magikarp isn't fast enough at level 20 to outrun level 30 pokemon, so I have to keep smoke ball on him, but at higher levels where it can hold an everstone, the dittos have a lower capture rate when they use imposter, so quick balls never work.
Spore or false swipe along aren't good enough for a level 35 copied magikarp, meaning 1 more turn and that much more time wasted.
Does /vp/ have any suggestions?
