From a rough guess its Att stat is Terrible even with the hindering nature and its defenses are usually slightly higher than its Sp.att but it's just boosted because its modest.

Looking for a shiny modest noibat.

I have shiny furret, xatu(early bird ;_;), poliwrath, swalot, bunnelby(modest) clawitzer(modest, bad ivs), clawitzer(docile 31 speed) to offer for it

The clawitzers have max speed and spatt evs and some of them are nicknamed.

i've played the shit out of every pokemon since red and blue came out as like a 5 year old and have literally not seen a single legitimate shiny, ever.

from what I can tell, it's hardly changed from gen4. watch some dppt chaining guides on youtube and you'll get a very good gist. I am doing all mine off of dppt knowledge and I've gotten 2 shinies with relatively little pain

1. use the heavy shake patches because they're the easiest for me to distinguish
2. don't do patches on the edges
3. don't do patches directly adjacent to you
4. try hardest to do the furthest patch
5. when in doubt, just reset

those generally work, but chains definitely get broken unexplainably this gen. I've had quite a few

No it doesn't work, its not chaining that got him anything its the fact that sweet scent causes horde battles.
Having a horde battle means you have 5 different chances to get a shiny per match instead of just the 1 so after a while of doing it I can see you getting something.
