Question. I'm new to all this breeding/EV's/IV's nonsense, but I've seen how for every 4 EV's, you get +1 stat. Is that how IV's work, too? Do you only get +7 from 28 IV's in a stat, making it not that important? It seems like it would be that way, but judging by how people want 31 IV's so bad, it makes me think otherwise. If it were true, anything over 28 would be pointless. inb4 google it, I am lazy and like to discuss.

Every pokemon has a value ranging from 0-31 on each of their stats. Let's say you have 2 of the same pokemon. One has 0 IVs in their attack stat, the other has 31. You level them both to 100. The pokemon with 31 IVs has 31 extra points in that stat than the one with 0 IVs.

Now how do you breed for certain IVs? I know there is something to to do Power Items and Destiny Knot, but what exactly do you do?

>>15028078 btw, i'm breeding magician fennekins right now. IF anyone wants one tell me.
mostly males, random natures (mostly rash, right now i have a everstone on a timid male)
would tell you about the IVs,except i don't understand them

>>15028237 I am not 100% on how to breed for best IV's, but I've seen plenty of threads about them. I do know that you can check them pretty easily by talking to the guy in the pokecenter on the town you unlock after the E4. I wouldn't mind a Magician, if you don't mind.

>>15027324 At level 100, stat total is calculated by adding the following
IVs (1 stat point per 1)
Base Stat (2 stat points per 1)
EVs (4 stat points per 1)
And then multiplying it by 1.1 for a helpful nature or 0.9 for a hindering nature.

Got that backwards.
It's double base stat + IV + 1 point per 4 EVs, multiplied according to nature.

>>15028401 Now there's an answer. Thanks.
I do have another question though, directed at anyone.
Does the super training stats screen at the bottom distinctly tell you when you've maxed a stat? I mean by actually EV training in the field. I am training a few in HP right now, and I am wondering if I'll just have to *assume the stat is maxed because it looks like it* or will it tell me, or light up or something.

All I really have to trade are some Squirtles/Eevees.

I got a question about EVs say you fucked up in your spread and want to undo EVs distributed to that pokemon. Is there a way to do this and is it reversable at lv100?

>>15028703 Timid is fine, if you still want to trade. Going to need your FC though.

>>15028722 You can get reset bags from the super training. It's a somewhat rare occurence though. You get a random bag after every training session. That resets all base stats. Otherwise it takes a bunch of berries.
