In defense of people who ask opinions and blow answers anyway I must say usually people trends to answer something different to what they were asked.

God he's a fuckin idiot. At least X and Y's Super Training has helped him get over his obsession with the idea that EV training is evil. And he learned over time how Physical/Special work.

At this point, I gave up. He asks for help with competitive and I build teams for him. Then, I tell him the team is old and predictable and build him a new one, which he refuses to use because he likes the old team. I skype with him while he battles to give him tips, yet he refuses to listen. One time, he was using a scarf'd Hydreigon against an Alakazam, and I told him to finish it off. He uses Draco and fucking misses and I ask him why the fuck he did that, and he was like, "Fire Blast has bad accuracy, I didn't think Surf would kill, and it's immune to Dark Pulse." Then he bitches at me because he feels as though he's not supposed to remember type matchups during competitive.

I agree with him that yes, a trained Golem can take 4-5 water moves in the main game from AI trainers but it's obvious he's never really fought against human trainers.

Pretty much the only time a Golem can survive multiple Water or Grass moves is against someone with as much physical power as Roselia or Mantine. Even with Gyarados level SpAtk, Surf or Scald would deal buttloads.

Yea, no. You're full of shit. Unless the Golem is like WAY overlevelled, then it's not going to survive 4-5 water attacks from a Gyarados. Shit, I doubt it could survive 4-5 water attacks from a Gyarados even if it had a Sp. Def. boosting nature and max EV's and IV's in Sp. Def.

That's like my friend who challenged me to a battle the second day after X and Y came out. He rushed through the game, so he had high level 40s Tyrantrum, Aegislash, Chesnaught, Charizard, etc. My team was Frogadier, Eevee, Exeggcute, Axew, Fletchinder, and Croagunk. He got all pissy because I quit. Now, he gloats about his supposed "victory" because I kicked his ass with my ingame team in Black 2, even though he had an EV trained Moxie-Mence and a hacked shiny Metagross with Adamant nature and 252 Atk 252 Spe.

This really shouldn't annoy me, but pronunciation with my casual friends is really grating sometimes. I can only stand to hear so many poh-KEY-mans a day.
It was really awkward hearing one of them pronounce Snivy as Snee-vee.

I got challenged by some Canadian kids about the same time, and I got thwomped. It was a four person battle, I was partnered with some other poor soul a bit ahead of me, and the opposing team went 2 megas at the same time, a mega mewtow X and a mega lucario.

I'm having a blast battling them, but I don't think they like me thrashing them just for fun. I can't wait to battle them once they get past the E4

Haha, wow. That reminds me of this one time I played in a pokemon tourney at an anime convention. In the second round I completely wrecked this guy's team with a Donphan. At one point he sent Elecvire out and though he was going to get a surprise kill with Ice punch but Donphan's defense plus yache berry made it only loose 1/4 of donphan's hp. All the people around watching thought it was absolutely amazing that a super effective hit did so little damage and after the match I had some people come up and ask "Did you super breed that Donphan?"

Though at least now I stick to RU/NU battles so I can still use Pokémon I like.
