Currently MMing for a shiny Litleo. Getting a shiiiiit ton of Unnerve Females, hoping for a Rivalry Male, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Regardless, I'll be happy whenever I get this shiny.

I've tried my luck at fish chaining, got to around a chain of 100 and decided to quit and get back to MMing. I only have about 2 1/2 boxes filled so far, so I have a long night ahead of me.

Inkay - 80 eggs
Pumpkaboo - 382 eggs

I posted it earlier, but I caught a Shiny Shelgon in a Friend Safari yesterday, and evolved it into a Salamance today. Green dragon ftw

Since I was only running around for a couple hours, I'm considering trying it for a shiny Metagross, too. Think it's worth it?

I completed the pokedex today so I got that Oval Charm that makes the daycare man gives you the eggs more quickly, but that's kind of useless given that they still take a long time to hatch even with the Flame Body Pokemon. I've been trying to get the Hatching O Power, but I've done everything there was to do on that list of Luminose and I still can't find the damn O-Power guy

Is breeding the fastest way to get one or should I go for poke Radar?
Either way I don't really understand how Poke Rader works

Some guy on /vp/ got his Pokemon X and it already had a save file started last month (Named Zyzz lol). Brand new sealed, so he traded away everything in his box. I chose his Haunter with Gengarite so I could finally see Mega Gengar for myself.

Man was I surprised when it Mega Evolved. Its normal sprite looks a lot like its shiny as a Gengar.

Also don't listen to the folks who said they got theirs 10 eggs in or whatever. They're the minority. It's VERY rare to get a shiny that fast. You either get one in the first ten boxes or after you've hit the box limit, sometimes a couple times.

No, it's all probability. Each event has a 1/1300 or so shiny chance, so if you take over 600 attempts you'll get at least 1 success at least 50% of the time. 2000 eggs gives you around a 78% chance, and 4000 eggs gives you a 95% chance. Just caught a Dragalge and a Poliwhirl using fish method. First shinies in Y. Only other shinies I've ever had (aside from Red Gyrados and event download shinies) are the white 2 dragonite, an eevee which is now an espeon. and a gligar I caught while EV training. How does this work? I use a chip clip. We have these tiny ones about an inch wide which is perfect bit I bet larger ones work too if they can apply enough pressure.

When you enter in what Pokemon you want you can select "Options" or whatever it's called to exclude the legendaries. Lots of them have already been traded away though so you have to refresh your search or offer for old ones listed.

More efficient than traveling all the way to Lumiose and back for every five eggs.

The most efficient way is to switch them out right when they hatch that way the highest amount of steps go to hatching the highest amount of eggs possible.

But you are not hatching the eggs as a group, they are hatched individually.

I never said it did, and there's no difference between hoarding 2000 eggs then hatching and hatching 2000 eggs as they're given to you other than personal preference. It's just if he hatches 1000 more eggs altogether he'd have had a 90% chance at getting one shiny.

You can still hatch 5000 and never get any due to RNG fucking you over though, it just won't happen often.

Got a shiny abra while I was chaining for it. I think it was pretty early on in the chain (got lucky with a 5 chain), but I had to really scrutinize the coloring. Thank god for sparkles.

A note to people chaining, bring a Wobbuffet with shadow tag, really helps.
