So, what EVs did you train for your Blaziken, /vp/?

Surely attack, but is speed really necessary if the chicken has Speed Boost?

In how many turns will it be "faster enough" to your standards?
Are you telling me the difference between the first turn and the needed amount of turns is so big, that speed EV training is still more valuable than giving attention to other stats?

Investing into HP/Attack doesn't really give you enough bulk to turn any noteworthy or important 1hit kos into 2hit kos, or 2 hits into 3. All it does it leave you more vulnerable to scarfs and pokemon with already high base speed.

Jolly seems such a waste. Even Adamant you don't need to max EVs to outspeed shit like timid gengar and starmie after one boost. Yeah if they're scarfed, you're fucked but even with Jolly and 252 speed you still won't outspeed a scarfed pokemon with any decent amount of speed and you're losing so much attack in the process.

The thing is though that if you have a proper counter, Blaziken shouldn't be around for more than 2 turns. Protect is all it gets and if it can't win on the next turn (especially now with Infiltrator and sound moves ignoring Substitute) it should be dead like anything else that tries to set up with 1-Turn protects.
How did people deal with Ninjask? I remember that guy being in OU, never uber and now it's low tier. It just smells of retardation to me.

The only speed boosters in gen 5 where Blaziken, Ninjask, and Sharpedo, and Yanmega.

Blaziken has the highest attack stat out of all them and gets a good boosting move and great STABs, Ninjask and Yanmega are both 4x weak to rock so they get raped by SR. Ninjask is a baton passer which has it's own weaknesses. And sharpedo has no boosting move, and is even more frail than Blaziken.

Even so, Blaziken is fragile as fuck as well. Sure maybe not 1-shottable by EVERYTHING like Ninjask/Yanmega are but not far from it.

Sand hippo can bulk him and phase him. I don't think there are any real ahrd counters, but he has some checks. Like gale wing talonflame, and slowbro, jellicent and a few others I can't think of off the top of my head.

He can't do shit to giratina, but that's ubers.

I've got a Brave Blaziken. I don't think speed is all that important on him if you use protect on the first turn, you'll outspeed most things turn 2 anyway and by turn 3 you'll outspeed pretty much anything but shit like Ninjask or Accelgor.
