Happened to me on White earlier. I took the cart out, blew on it oldschool style, and it worked.

The White is a used copy I just got and transferred my pokes to in preparation for the Bank.. then I found out the last guy who had it hacked a bunch of shit. I hope he didn't fuck up the game. Once I transfer everything off it I was going to give it a real playthrough

Sort of related, booted up my fire red this week and it now corrupts saves so it basically doesn't work. Same thing happened with my old pokemon silver and I know thats because it has an internal battery to keep the time. But fire red doesn't have a time mechanic, how has this shit happened? I'm getting a bit pissed off that nintendo keeps selling games that basically self-destruct after a few years.
