Amie is used for other things. Building affection can grant that pokemon extra exp through battle, higher chance to critical hit, chance to remove status ailments and occasionally save it from an attack that would have otherwise killed it. As well as having 2 hearts with an Eevee + knowing a fairy type attack will evolve it to Sylveon on next level up
