Nah thanks anyways, already got the rus and could fish one up if I felt like it. Might put it on the GTS for a Zapdos, its a decent color scheme and I would consider using it if it werent for the -speed +SpD nature. Ill save it for a month to use as potential trade fodder for something good

There's a few methods.

Masuda Method: Breeding a foreign and native pokemon will make eggs with a 1:2000ish rate for a shiny

Pokeradar chains: Getting a chain up to 40 will have an encounter rate as low as 1:200. Good luck maintaining it.

Chain Fishing: You already know of this

Sweet Scent Hording: Not sure if it actually increases rate, but you run in 5 pokemon at once.

Shiny Chain: not currently available in XY (not sure if it's available at all): In BW this increased the shiny rate by 3 times. or 4?

It's not worth it honestly. Just keep going through the game, and find a wild shiny, or try breeding one if you have absolutely nothing else to do. They're much more satisfying then getting one through or chain fishing.

Flash carts are cheap, just $20 for an Acekard that works on a DS/DSLite.
Just import your Pokemon into a 4th gen game on an emulator, put that rom and save on the cart, and transfer to 5th gen.
