Damn it, couldn't they think of mega evolutions 2 gens ago? It would be the best of both worlds and they would have spared so much suffering if they did.
The designs would have served perfect for mega evolutions.

Most of the evolutions in Gen IV look better or as good as the Pokemon they evolve from.

Mega Evolution is a stupid concept that shouldn't touch any one or two stage Pokemon.

Agreed. It doesn't help that some of them had shit pre-evos to work with. Rhyhorn/Rhydon was perfect the way it was. Nosepass should have turned into a badass Moai of death. Lickitung and Electabuzz were both kinda meh to begin with.
