How do you counter the Mega-Chicken?

I see this fuck in every online battle because an Uber was literally handed out to everyone with Wi-Fi access. I can only think of Chandelure because of his Fire resistance and Fighting resistance and natural decent Def. Along with Flame Body.

Mega Charizard X is bretty gud (higher physical defence, resists all the firghting moves, can use aerial ace or fly to do huge damage, use dragon dance first turn to bait out the protect and keep up with speed boost if he doesn't). As is Noivern, if you go for a jolly max speed IV EV build.

By definition a counter has to be able to switch in. Pinsir isn't taking and Mega Blaziken's fire type moves. Aegislash and Sharpedo also have problems. Same for Talonflame and Chadelure if it's carrying Stone Edge. And Banette as well if it's carrying Shadow Claw.

It's usually better to run a check/revenge killer over counter and it's true in this case.

Same can be said about Gengar. Sure he gets Shadow Tag but he needs to spend a turn in battle first to mega evolve and announce "HEY GUYS I'M A TRAPPER NOW", and he's still paper as fuck.

That said, he's still a great bad trasher simply by virtue of having Shadow Tag.

Imposter isn't a mega evolution, it's just a form.

Ditto will probably become extremely popular due to megas being predominantly sweepers and having him on your team effectively gives you access to a second mega.

I kinda wish Ditto got his own mega though.

+20 speed is actually a big deal on blaziken. While in the long run it's fast as fuck either way, being able to outspeed more threats at +0 or +1 is crucial. +40 Attack is basically a free Life Orb without the drawbacks. The result of a faster, beefier Blaziken is extremely dangerous.

Also, Special Aegislash exists, Hidden Power got nerfed, M-Blaziken can't be safely switched into by Rotom-W, and Talonflame counters everything else in the game so it's fine.

It's a new mechanic, so it works in a new way. Your pokemon needs a certain hold-item, you choose to mega-evolve and choose your attack, that turn you mega evolve and then perform combat normally.

It takes out everything cause binding moves got buffed up this gen. Only thing that escapes is stuff like u-turn. It's tanky as fuck and just murders you if you're not expecting it. 1/6th your hp + toxic builds up.

stronger now, no longer 1/16th hp, I think they're now always 1/8th. Then Binding band buffs that up further. Plus it traps unless they've got a bail-out move like u-turn or volt switch
