Competitvely speaking, is gen III the weakest of 'em all?

There's no need to remind me about Salamence, Breloom, Jirachi and Lati@s.

I didn't mean the META of that gen, but the Pokémon themselves.

Gen II had Blissey, Skarmory, Tyranitar, Donphan, Umbreon, Kingdra, Suicune, Raikou.
Without counting drizzle Politoed.

It was amazing gen 4 pre-Platinum as well and still usable in late gen 4. That said though, it's really been hit hard by all the changes since gen 3.

Still we have 11 gen I pokemon in OU, as much as gen V does.

And most gen I poke were good just in gen I.
Like Persiad and Exeggutor.

The changes haven't been good to him after the Physical/Special Split of Gen 4.

Meta wise it goes:

4 > 2 > 3 > 1 >>>>>> 5

4 was amazing in every way. Smogon left a pretty much perfect OU, UU and Little Cup when they left gen 4. 2 is good, but it's way too stally. 3 is like a worse 4. 1 is hax the metagame and 5 is pure and utter trash. The only redeemable thing about 5 is the UU tier, OU/LC is complete shit.

I have however only played OU/UU/LC and only OU in 1/2/3.

Gen 1 got spread out along the power line as introduced pokemon filled the spaces between them. This is proven with the Gen's appearance all over the essentially ratified internet tierlists.

Actual power creep would've left Gen 1 pokemon completely unusable by X and Y.

As it stands it sounds like you're using a word you don't really understand in a topic you don't really understand.

Aegislash and Protean Greninja are all I can really think of. OU's never been a particularly fun tier because of its predicability, so I'm not bothered that it's not getting many new additions.

You have stuff like Garchomp that define the metagame and stuff like anti-meta stuff like Donphan which just got into OU to counter a certain Pokemon or tactic. Gen 6 may not have much of the former at first glance, but maybe some of its Pokemon can make it to OU just for certain anti-meta traits? We'll have to see how the metagame shapes up.

He's good for cleanup rather than pure sweeping. If he gets into range to 1HKO with neutral or Super effective hits he can get rid of the last few enemies himself with ease.
