I just recently got my hands on some safari dittos and I'm working towards breeding perfect IV pokes. I'm still confused on a lot of how this works but my biggest question is: How can I tell if a newly hatched pokemon has perfect IVs? I've been using the IV calculator to find out otherwise but it wouldn't know indefinitely until I level the pokemon some and I don't want to waste my time doing that if it turns out to be crap.

Secondly, what's the point of the everstone? I kinda get that the destiny knot transfers IVs over at random to the hatched pokemon but it's random or something?
