I'm about to face E4 but I'm missing a permanent sixth Pokemon for my team. So far I've got Delphox, Blastoise, Yveltal, Lucario and Aurorus.

Any recommendations/suggestions? I have no real preference other than appearance.

Should I just take my time searching wild Pokemon for one that suits me?

Get a Grass type for dat FWG combo.

Smallest Gourgeist will give you speed on top of typing/utility, but the others will give your more reliable bulk for switchins.

I have a Sylveon, Meowstic, Gengar, Pidgeot, Lapras, Pikachu, Emolga, Butterfree, Volbeat, Snorlax and Hawlucha in my Favourites box. I have some sort of attachment to all of them but I'm not sure I want any of them as a permanent team member.

Do you not enjoy exploring? I mean shit, I tried my best to do a blind run of X and caught about everything I could. Why would you want only Pokemon given to you?

Having an old favorite or two on your team is perfectly fine.

At least Blastoise and co simultaneously feel familiar and interesting all at once with the mega evo thing going on.

In theory, Aurorus got Drasna but it got some bad stats so don't expect it to sweep.
The only issue would be Siebold which you should get a Grass/Electric Pokemon for him.

Otherwise, a Ok team IMO/

Eh, I like Blastoise and Lucario so I may as well go through the game with them. Blazieken, Gardevoir, and Aerodactyl too and no, I don't plan on using these online. I'm currently waiting on Pokebank so I can import my really good ones from Black. It's gonna be a long couple of months but I'll manage. It's not like Y is the only game in my backlog...

OP here. I'm replacing Aurorus with Honedge and adding Ralts to the blank spot. Obviously I'm gonna spend a little time bringing them up to speed before I take on E4.

I used charizard, gardevoir, blazekien, lucario, gengar and tyrantrum to beat the game. i also had a hm slave with bibarel. I used them cause i wanted to use the mega evolution mechanic. and honestly this new gen is kinda lame bar a few examples like tyrantrum. I ditched my delphox midway too cause it wasn't that interesting.

they were just too few. they really shoulda gave you the gen 1 starters post game and also limited the amount of old gen pokemon in this game but since gen 6 is so tiny, they had to fill it up with old stuff. also since the gyms and e4 provided like 0 challenge there was no point in making a good team.
