Why is everyone breeding and therefore implying Timid Greninjas are ideal for Protean? Just look at the physical and special movesets of useable moves:

5 good moves, 4 types.

Physical:
>Waterfall
>Water Shuriken
>Power-Up Punch
>U-Turn
>Rock Slide
>Acrobatics
>Aerial Ace
>Night Slash
>Shadow Sneak

9 good moves, 7 types

Is the difference of 8 points in Special Attack really a deciding factor when you have U-Turn, Acrobatics and Shadow Sneak to choose from?
