Just go to a spot where the tiles around your main one are blocked - have a poke with suction cup in front, and then start fishing. Make sure you dont
a) catch one (speculated)
b) move from spot
c) miss the '!!!!'

All you need is the right spot, the rod, suction cups helps.

Didn't get it through fishing though. Was showing my friend what kind of Pokemon showed up in his friend safari, and the first one I got was this one. The second a Bronzor in Pearl.
The third a Patrat in White.
Never tried to "force" the encounters, but seeing that the water shinies are piss easy to obtain I think I'm gonna give it a try.

my first shiny encountwr was in gold actually. when youre fighting with lance in the rocket base and you have to defeat those 3 electrodes to open a gate or whatever, one of them turned up shiny for me. i had no idea what it was, my friend whom i was with had no idea either. i ended up accidentally killing it. didnt know what a shiny even was until years later, looking back on it it was pretty cool

My first one was a Shiny Carnivine in Pearl. Didn't even realize for a while. Missed the animation and it got sent to the box.

Next one was a shiny Jynx on a randomized Platinum.

Last one was a shiny Mareep on Blaze Black 2.

First Zubat I had seen in XY. Never trained a Zubat before. It's currently a lvl 36 Crobat and I love it. My 2nd shiny ever, 1st was a Litwick in White.

I'd tried for ages to get shinies before. Spent 2 weeks hatching eggs for a zorua, in FireRed I soft resetted on and off for something like 2 months for a shiny charmander and never got one.
I thought as you only had a day to catch braviary I would just try a few times, got it in 15 soft resets. Chuffed as hell. Called him Lindburgh.

From then on, I got a Wobbuffet in LeafGreen, a Luvdisc in Emerald, a Rattata in HeartGold, and both a Sunkern and a Tentacool in Blaze Black (1, so no Shiny Charm), with only one week of time between them.
I don't think I'll ever find a shiny again.

Never got any shinies in previous games but I got a shiny Ditto and a shiny Espurr in friend safari. Wasn't looking for them, very random. Traded my Ditto to a rando on this board because he wanted the ability I had.

I really don't see the use in having them since AFAIK breeding them doesn't increase shiny chance. I would like a shiny Charizard but it would seem like if I get shininess I won't have IVs, and vice versa. So like what do I even do with a shiny Pokemon.

Shinies are just palette swaps anyway. Some of them look badass as result and some actually look worse. (Or kinda the same.)

I'd not mind if there were multiple colors for each Pokemon with varying rarity.

It depends on the palette of the Poke'mon. Its not Garchomps fault that his colors have no "shinified" color scheme. Like, if you were to hack a say Ruby rom or something, and you editted the sprite into a different color, its new sprite would take the colors and find the shiny opposite of that color. Which is why most Pink shaded pokemon are blue. ex; Ditto, Mew. Its just their shade of pink they are.

I could be completely wrong. Thats just how I see it

I got that guy in your pic related in White 2. That was my first Shiny.

And I got earlier today this cute from the GTS. Mild Nature, Sheer Force, bad bad bad. However, I got surprised because the guy in question asked for any random Mawile in return, so I got hella lucky.

On the good side, this thing has perfect HP Attack and Speed, so it will work whenever I want to Masuda for my own Adamant Shiny Mawile.

Without egg moves or a nature is it worth using? It also has pickup instead of technician so I'll need to farm for the ability switcher too.

My first shiny was the Red Gyrados. My first actual shiny finally occurred this gen, in the form of a shiny gothirita. Calm nature, decent IV's, pretty nice color swap. Was happy for that split second that I had captured it. Second one was gained through fishing abuse, shiny poliwhirl, rash, holding a king's rock, so it's obvious the fuck wants to be a politoed. I wanted an attack-boosting nature for wrath, but all well.
