>>15131817>I'm telling you that regular Heracross cannot fill the same Bulk Up + Rest/Talk set. Because it doesn't need RestTalk, it can stay alive by simply using Substitute+Leftovers while Bulking up. Leftovers is constant recovery now that perma-sand and hail aren't even things anymore.
>Heracross is pretty frail, whereas Mega Heracross is actually really bulky, regardless of leftovers. You're literally running a bulk up set. That base special defense is boosted by a total of 10 points. Fantastic. I guess Mega Heracross is going to wall all of the psychic and fire moves aimed at it now. Bulk Up increases defense by 50% every time you use it. That 75 base defense gets boosted to Mega Heracross levels within a single turn, so that stat is basically moot. It gets up to Aggron levels after two or three boosts. Which you'll definitely get if you're boosting behind a sub with constant recovery unless they switch into something that scares you, which neither Mega nor Regular Heracross wouldn't be able to deal with anyway.
You're able to bulk up to +6, then kill whatever
Then something comes in with a single attack and you're relying on resttalk recovery
While regular Heracross has a sub up for anything bar fucking Chatot and Pixelate Mega Gardevoir with Hyper Voice
Which it outspeeds and OHKOs, While Mega Heracross can't because Gardevoir is literally just between the two, and turn order is decided before mega evolution speed/priority is added.
