Is there a way to reliably MM for a competitive shiny Pokémon?

It seems as though you'd need a perfect foreign Ditto/[pokemon you're breeding] (with beneficial nature), and a perfect [pokemon you're breeding] just to ensure 5 perfect IVs (and even if you manage to fulfill these requirements, you might fuck up an important stat).

So /vp/, is there a better way to breed for a competitive shiny Pokémon?
