Watch for anything with Sucker Punch, Shadow Sneak or Pursuit. If you run into a Spiritomb with it you're fucked.

If you're talking about Talonflame, try to only bring it in when you're sure you'll OHKO. If not, you're taking heavy damage in return. Electric and Rock types are going to be your bane with it.

Also the only priority getting past Talonflame is ExtremeSpeed.

He's not the Destroyer of Worlds some people make him out to be, but he's solid and has good utility. He has a relevant role as a revenge killer and late-game cleaner and he performs well in it, and that's all he needs to do.

You don't want to just dump 252 EVs into speed because he only needs speed to hit things with Flare Blitz. The next things that underspeed him are Thundurus-I, who is non-existent and needs a Jolly Nature to be outsped (Talonflame can't afford the drop in Power by not using Adamant though).

After that it's Froslass, who can theoretically trouble it. All I can think of is Max Speed Jirachi. Am I missing anything important, maybe a Scarfed thing?

Good enough to perform well in OU, probably won't be popular enough to crack the usage stats once the hype dies down, especially if Blaziken gets banned. Looking like a high UU with a meaningful niche in OU, which is much more than most other birds can say.

Decent revenge killers should not need massive levels of support. And no other Pokemon is going to fix those crappy defenses unless you're fighting a noob that doesn't know how to counter Baton pass sets.
As for priority, Attack Stance Agelsash can and will rape it with Shadow Sneak and laughs at Brave Bird.

Bottom line is, it just doesn't have enough power or bulk to cut it with the big boys, priority Brave Bird or not.

Staraptor was BL in Gen 4 and 5, wasn't it? It's not like this is the first great bird we've gotten.

I think Swellow was relevant in Gen 3 when it could use HP Ground/Fighting to cover its inability to hit Steel and Rock types.

Swellow was solid in Gen 3, yes. It was a decent UU in Gen 4 but it was competing with Braviary for Best NU Bird last gen. Came down to whether you wanted speed and Guts or bulk and Fighting moves. Both almost made RU at points by usage (Swellow) and discussion of banning (Braviary), but they never really soared. Staraptor was the premier Early Bird and Talonflame gives him competition for the title but in a totally different capacity and role, the two are VERY different. Staraptor is a naturally powerful wallbreaker who can sweep and Talonflame uses an awesome ability and just-workable stats to great effect in late-game.

Defog now removes hazards and screens on BOTH sides. This means the ones set against you, not just the ones you've set. It means that more Pokemon can act as hazard removers instead of just Rapid Spinners.
Pro: Can't be blocked by Ghosts.
Con: Takes any hazards you've set out of the picture as well.
Definitely makes things more interesting, and its a viable alternative to Spinning if it suits your team.

It's weak to fire, Flare blitz will most likely oneshot him. Shadow sneak has priority over Flare blitz but a sneak without swords dance behind it is not going to kill Talonflame.

Aqua Jet would ruin his day, but it would need to be from something faster than him to beat Brave Bird. If its a Water type bulky enough to survive Brave Bird...it should just use any other Water attack. He's not God tier but he gets by.

True, but the lack of survivability is somewhat countered by smart King's Shield usage. And besides, if I'm using Ageslash, it's to do as much damage to other pokes as possible, not stick around. That's just me, though.

Pair it up with mega gyarados.
Get a spinner like a certaing bug/steel type or Steelix wich can in turn set up SR and phaze with dragon tail. Otherwise use something with magic bounce to hard counter klefki and other entry hazard mons. Then you need something to deal with sand teams like heliolisk or a decent water type like clawitzer.

Talonflame and Staraptor are just made to do different roles. Talonflame is a revenge killer and late-game cleaner that relies on priority, Swords Dance and its naturally high speed, while Staraptor provides a lot of immediate force (especially with Reckless) and can bust walls with Close Combat but is slightly slower and can be outsped fairly easily.
