Personally, I don't like the idea of repeating an action over and over in excess to acheive the most desirable random result. In the breed vs pokegen debate, I firmly stand on the pokegen side, because of how much of an arbitrary chore breeding for good IVs was, especially before destiny knot and especially before power items would pass IVs (so, before HG/SS).
However - I can really, really respect someone who has spent the time to IV breed a perfect or near-perfect pokemon in a game of dice.
I mean, if someone sat down and actually put in the time and effort to make a great pokemon with a good nature - I have an honest, heart-felt respect for people who do that, people who have the passion to work for it instead of taking an accessible shortcut.
.
And it is in this respect that I agree - although only slightly - with OP's point. What's the difference between a perfect IV pokemon in Gen 6 and a perfect IV pokemon in Gen 5? Effort - hours and hours of effort (unless lolpokesav)..
Just sayin
