Yes, for four fucking days one fucking Jigglypuff came out every day after 1 hour of safari. The last one took a day instead.

I don't even really care anymore, so i stopped. I just want a Ralts or Kirlia. No one has more than one shiny apparently so it's hard to ask for a trade.

I need to learn how to use the radar, but in the meantime i think i'll go safari a Floette or a Swirlix.

It's not easier, but considering all the shinies i've gotten in the previous days just by safari(6) i can't believe it's just luck.

Plus the fact that there are only a few Pokémon makes it easier to find the species you're looking for. And if you safari while doing something else like browsing the web, etc like i did, it's much better.

It seems like there is some kind of connection between friends and Shinies, but no hard evidence. It could be that the Safari has higher encounter rates, or it could be that more friends increases your rates.

There's honestly no way to be 100% sure at this point.

that's pretty good, sassy raises special defense at the cost of speed which is helpful for clauncher, he isn't outrunning anything soon and can use extra defense. mega launcher is good too although I don't think he gets another ability anyway

I'm bored as fuck and it doesn't seem like I'll be seeing a shiny any time soon, so I'll share with you the story of the one and only time I ever encountered a shiny in the wild.
>Playing SoulSilver in the post game
>Been buffing up all my Pokemon
>Lowest leveled Pokemon in my party was a level 70 Mew I was training at the time
>Decide to do the Groudon sidequest
>Surprised to see it's fucking level 50, but too lazy to turn back, so I take him time after time, reseting when he dies

>Completely caught off gaurd, the one time I see a shiny it's at the most inconvientent possible time
>I use my Mew's weakest attack, Groudon's instantly on his last legs
>tfw no status effect inducing attacks for any of my Pokemon sans one and no masterballs available
>A shitload of ultraballs later, I decide it's all or nothing
>Now desperate, I send out my Gengar, named Chesire
>With no other options, I use toxic.
>His health goes down, with only a speck left, but he survives
>It's now or never... I throw an ultraball and hope that the game will let me win this, just this once

Doesn't work any more since B2/W2. The PID (and hence, the gender and shiniess) will still change, but everything else will stay the same.

Well my birthday is off to a good start - Beat the E4, walked into my first friend safari, and the first pokemon to pop up was a shiny Lillipup.

Now I'm going to try and breed out a shiny perfect IV Ninetails before the day's out. I only wish I had a nice IV foreign Ditto (or Ninetails) to make it easier.

I've always wanted to get a shiny, but one time I used soft reseting for over a month to get a shiny charmander in FireRed. Never got one, never tried again. But I've gotta say, that little *click* and the jingle that plays after was the most satisfying I've ever heard.

Only shiny I've ever seen in the 12 years I've been playing these games was a fucking shiny Bibarel, in the safari zone no less.

Just catch dittos in safari and trade them for another level 30 ditto. Most of the time they are jap, and are garunteed to have 2 IV's perfect

Haha, no. Truth is, we have no idea what is going on with shiny rates. We've had people getting 3 shinies in a day, and people who've hatched over 100 boxes.

Some say tipping helps, or hunting in Safari's, or having a large number of friends, but we honestly don't know.

Except fishing. That we know for a fact has a high as fuck Shiny encounter rate.

Shiny rate seems higher in hordes because you're running into 5 pokemon at once, so instead of 1/8192 chance, it's 5/8192 chance (about 1/1638)
