Fairy/Psychic is a much better typing than plain Psychic. Bug/Dark weakness is traded for Posion/Steel, and gains Dragon immunity. Very few pokemon can get STAB Poison without being vulnerable to her STAB Psychic, and most of the powerful and most common Poison attacks are special-typed. Steel doesn't have many good moves, and is a much better weakness to have than Bug or Dark. Neutrality to Dark means she can't be Pursuit locked as easily, and Sucker Punch isn't as much a concern.
She still retains her massive movepool, and has gained a few more moves for her new typing. One of the reasons why she was popular in NU was, because of all the moves she could possibly have, she could fill a lot of roles and one of the dangers in facing her was not knowing what she would do.
Her mega form is a really powerful special sweeper but it's not really the best mega to use. She still can't take a physical hit very well. It's just ridiculously stupid that she gets +20 attack but nothing for defense.
But I do definitely see her going up to RU, possibly UU.
