So, out of all the new Fairy-type pokemon, which one really won you over?

For me, it was definitely Florges. Took a while, and early on it felt like it couldn't deal damage at all, but after learning Moonblast it really started to shine. I do wish that it had become part Grass-type, though.

How about you?

Togekiss. I've raised one in every game since pearl, but I'm not sure if fairy is a boon or a detriment.

If that doesn't count, I like Aromatisse. I wasn't a plaguefag but I didn't like it at first, but I warmed up to it after imagining it in the anime as a spoiled diva.

I didn't bother using any during the single player but so far after doing some competitive play I think I like Florges, I don't know I haven't used that many. I tried Klefki, but he really suffers from not having taunt. Florges has some nice support moves, Wish is awesome.

I employed a similar tactic with my Furfrou. No wish, but it did have fur coat, so it takes less damage anyway.

Sylveon. I used it just because I wanted to see what the type was like and I could never get Flabebe up to an acceptable level. Got really fun when I got Calm Mind and Draining Kiss.

Florges kinda weirds me out
Slurpuff and Aromatisse are abominations
Carbink and Klefki are alright but I feel like they need evolutions
Sylveon and Xerneas are cool

it did give me an excuse to use Gardevoir again, which I haven't since Gen III. That Fairy typing gives it such a buff, being only weak to Ghost, Poison (which it can easily counter) and Steel

Does he have the HP for that setup? It seems like he can't really take a hit, even with duel screens. You'd need to get very lucky with the confusion for him to survive.

I was loving my Slurpuff and running Surf, Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, and Draining Kiss until I noticed it/mine had a higher attack than special attack.

Now I can't even bring myself to put the poor bastard back in my party.

Should I try to start over with a Modest one or is there a better strategy with these guys?

I'm trying to think of something for Carbink and his excelent defensive stats, but I'm not sure what. Maybe Toxic/Protect/Rest/Stealth Rock? He'd die if a steal type even looked at him funny, but otherwise, he could probably last long enough to set up a full Stealth Rock even against someone he had weakness too, and hurt anyone not immune to toxic pretty badly.

Carbink is both my favorite Fairy type currently and the unexpected bro of my playthrough team. Super-trained in Def and Sp Def, Rocky Helmet, and was the first of my team to max in Amie happiness.

but I fucking love it

Running a modest set and just basically annihilating things. In an online battle it has tanked for me while snacking on some leftovers and hitting back hard.

Of course I do agree a wish set would be better for Sylveon but modest is just as fun

It's so adorable

easily one of my top 5 favorite pokemon

Actually I like Sylveon too, but I never knew/bothered to find out how to breed wish onto an Eevee
