Gengar is a liability being pursuit weak. So is Alakzam, despite both being faster, they can't be saved as anything more than revenge killers once people figure this out, which you can just use a ditto or something for instead of "wasting" a mega slot on them. Scizor, Heracross, Venusaur(due to different roles), Garchomp, Blaziken and I think Lucario are all weaker than their regular forms for one reason or another, usually due to items. Mega Gardevoir, Mawile, Absol, Ampharos, Kangaskhan, and Medicham are sort of pathetic.
Pinsir's got a niche where it can be useful, Blastoise isn't all that great, Mewtwo X and Y are in ubers, Houndoom needs sun support, Manectric is underwhelming for a Mega of all things, so that leaves you with Aerodactyl, Gyarados, which fills an entirely different role, Aggron, which also fills an entirely different role, and Mega Charizard X, who is a mixed/Physical wallbreaker with DD rather than having the immediate raw damage output or utility of Mega Charizard Y.
What in the fuck else would you even use besides Charizard Y for nukes? It's basically Chandelure with more power, more speed, and a lingering effect if it dies.
