What's the average length of combos for fishing before you get a shiny? I got a 60 combo looking for a shiny Luvdicks and I found nothing. I usually can't spend more than an hour or two hunting shinies because it gets too repetitive.

I received a female Braixen from France mere seconds ago. Being from England, can I use the Masuda method to increase my chances of hatching a shiny Fennekin? I've never been quite sure of the different regions. Is it as long as they have e.g. 'FRE' or 'JPN' next to them Pokémon's name they are from different regions and therefore 'Musad-able'?

Tried to do the "soft reset after hatching five eggs" thing and got bored with it after several rounds.

The only one I remember is the one where the kid has an Eevee and his siblings are pressuring him to evolve it into their Eevees (Flareon, Vaporeon or Jolteon). But in the end he decides the Eevee is perfect the way it is.

Question for you shiny gurus:

If you're doing the consecutive fishing thing and save mid-chain, can you reload and restart the chain from that point? As an example, I was fishing in a spot that had Relicanth, Clawitzer, and the occasional Seadra. After maybe 30-40 hooks, I decided to save. Only two hooks later, I got a shiny Relicanth. I'd rather have had a Clawitzer. Could I have reloaded my game and continued my chain from around the same point? I know that it's not guaranteed that I'd have found a shiny again so quick, but would I have at least had a nice chain to continue from?

Follow-up question: what the fuck can I do with a shiny Relicanth? Only my third shiny ever, and... meh.

It's hard to test that, but in my experience; the chain is broken after you reload your save. As for shiny Relicanth, it's sadly worthless and you can't really do anything with it.

Just start your chain over again and hope for the best.

Thanks. I'm still okay with it. I went all the way from the beginning of the series through B/W without ever seeing a shiny, and have had three since B/W2 (and other than this Relicanth, the other two were actually random, not chained or Masuda'd or anything). So I guess I can't complain.

I don't generally, but I cared about it while breeding a Sylveon for my team, so now I'm using a 4 31 IV Eevee with a Japanese Ditto to breed. It also has Wish now, so it'll be pretty useful.

My Goodra has 4 perfect IVs, the best Japanese Ditto I was able to get has 2 perfect IVs. I could get a maxiumum of 5 perfect IVs on my shiny, but I could get 2. I'd be happy with 3-4.

So, I started trading with a passerby at like, 11:50, not looking at the time. Guy was obviously about halfway through he game, had quite a few pokemon around level 45, and was trading for almost anything higher leveled, so I was being a bro.
I noticed it was past 12 and quit the trades, then was looking through my boxes for pokerus to make sure I hadn't completely lost it, when I noticed he gave me this shiny for a dragonair.
Do I feel bad for it not even being a good dragonair, just slightly higher level?
I'm not sure he even knew it was shiny.

I decided to try it and got a shiny Charmeleon like, ten minutes in, then 2 hours later I got a shiny ponyta.
Sadly, I lost the ponyta because I didn't save out of the pure excitement, and didn't notice my DS was red, but I still have Charmeleon.

Modest will hit a bit harder and timid will be a bit faster. For something like Gardevoir, I'd always go timid. They have great special attack already, and really need the speed. Not to mention they have access to calm mind if you need to hit harder.
