I lucked out and got a 6 iv Furfrou while climbing the IV ladder but it had a really bad nature so it's not viable

3 hours later I'm still trying to get another 5 using a shitty ass levl 58 ditto with the worst IV's known to man just because it's JP and the nature I need.

7th box into Larvitars, trying to get all perfect IV's apart from sp.atk... does it usually take this long?
I have a ditto with 3 perfect IV's and a larvitar with the other 3 in the day care, ditto with destiny knot and larvitar with everstone.

I was thinking Tentacruel but his walling abilities are mediocre at best, he resists steel, fire and fighting though

Chesnaught has that Gengar immunity and resists Quakeedge

I was the same way a few weeks ago but with the safari and the Destiny Knot thing making IV breeding easier my OCD's made me start breeding for IVs too. I'm not breeding for perfect IVs yet, but I'll probably end up doing that eventually at this rate.

Got some perfect Gligars through a few generations of breeding. Currently trying to MM a Ralts, and as a side effect of that I have a couple of perfect Ralts, one of which is being used for the MM'd Ralts, of course.

I might go back to trying to get female Eevees if I ever get the shiny Ralts, but the fucking male to female ratio pisses me off to no end. After hours, last time, I was never able to get a perfect female one for my breeding pair.

I'm running with these moves and thanks to pain split i came back from 1hp to full health and was able to destroy the last 3 pokes on someones team.
It's saved my ass a few times and i already have Will-O-Wisp on Rotom Wash anyway.

Just got done breeding a Careful 31/31/31/x/31/x Overcoat Mandibuzz. Even with the nerf to Sand Stream, I'm still thinking of running a Sandstorm team, with Mandibuzz acting as an unorthodox wall of sorts. While it will have Toxic and Roost, it still has decent speed for its bulk, so it can perhaps pull a taunt off before the opponent. But, since Foul Play can't be tutored like in previous gens, I decided to give it a perfect Atk IV and give it Fly. Would've preferred Sky Drop, but god damn, the distribution on that move is about as bad as Flareon's movepool.

Been procasterbating lately though, and still need to breed the rest of the team.

I want to get a Venomoth that knows Baton Pass, so I breed it with one of these things that learns it so now I have a bunch of Venonat that have Baton Pass. Now if I breed these Venonat that know Baton Pass with wach other, will THOSE offspring still have Baton Pass, or do I have to breed Venonat with Ledyba or Surskit or something each time I want a Venonat with Baton Pass?

Spent the entire day breeding Wish onto Eevee. It's got to be one of the most annoying chain breeds ever.

>Pass Wish onto Pichu
>Spend another hour maxing Pichu's happiness
>Pass onto male Eevee
>Spend two more hours trying to get a female Eevee (12.5% chance fuck that shit)
>Can't chain breed IVs efficiently because female Eevees are so rare
>End up spending five more hours breeding for IVs

I never want to go through that shit again

By the way, I have a full box of 4 IV'd Bold Eevees with Wish. I'm giving them out for free if anyone wants em. I don't want anyone else to experience the suffering that I've been through.

Question about Destiny Knot. It chooses 5 IVs to pass down total from the parents. There's 12 IVs total between each parent. Does it just pick 5 out of those 12 IVs at random? Will it pick 5 categories of IVs and then 1 of the 2 from each parent?

Well, right off the bat you're got the item down, so cross Abomasite as item off the list.

Next is the stats. Aboma originally has 90/92/75/92/85/60, as a Mega, that turns into 90/135/95/150/95/30. Meaning you'll wanna keep to a special aspect; so Blizzard and Energy Ball as your main STAB moves. The other two moves are dependent up to you.
You can run Sub+Seed if you want, relegating it to a more support kind of role (i.e. start up weather, toss out seeds, switch to something else so you can start weather up again.)
Ice Shard's priority can help considering the drop in speed, and 135 base attack ensures it can still pack a punch.
That said, you could surprise your opponent and run a mixed set, or surprise your opponent altogether and run purely physical. With Ice Shard, Wood Hammer, EQ, and Leech Seed, it can be a nasty surprise for someone expecting special aboma.

As for the nature, it seems like a Speed lowering nature would be best, though what you want it to gain is up to you. Plus, if you happen to run Trick Room as well as Hail, that Speed drop will be handy.

On that note, if you can, try to breed some teammates that either have Magic Guard or Overcoat.

Overcoat grants immunity to hail and sandstorm damage, and not many pokes have it, but the ones who do is mostly as a hidden ability. As mentioned, Mandibuzz is an unorthodox wall, in that is has 110/105/95 defenses, but that is backed by a 80 speed, and it gets Overcoat naturally. There is also Reuniclus, but that thing is better off with Magic Guard.
The only other worthwhile users of Overcoat I can think of could be Forretress, since hail damage would mess up Sturdy; or perhaps Escavilier if you don't mind it not having Swarm/Shell Armor.

In terms of Magic Guard, Sigilyph has never let me down. Otherwise, Reun for Trick Room or Alakazam for a hard special attacker (give it psyshosck so it isn't walled).

This is a breeding general though. Defog is only relevant in Showdown because in Gen 6 cartridge battles, the only things relevant that learn it are Scizor and maybe Archeops and Crobat.

I'm currently breeding two Fletchlings. Both have perfect IVs in HP, Attack, Defense, Special Defense and Speed. One is holding an Everstone, and is Adamant. The other is holding a Destiny Knot. The female has Gale Wings.

Why is it that the eggs they produce aren't all perfect aside from Special Attack, if I'm using a Destiny Knot? Some are coming out with three IVs.

I think it's possible for the Destiny Knot to choose the same IV to pass down from two different parents. For instance it might first randomly choose to pass down the Male's Speed IV, then randomly choose to pass down the Female's Speed IV, essentially wasting one of its passes.

I say this because I've been in the exact same situation, getting Pokemon with 3-4 perfect IVs off of parents that have the same 5 perfect IVs.

I'm also dealing with this, I've got some really good parents but I'm only getting one or two perfect IVs with each egg despite having the potential for perfects in 5 stats

This will be my first time actually breeding seriously so I have a few questions.

How many boxes does it typically take to get to your perfect Pokemon.

I started with two different pokes to get my egg move. Then I bred the same Pokemon with egg move with same Pokemon without egg move to get two or three IV's with the egg move and I have had 4 or so different sets of Parents so far in order to get my nature, Ability, Egg Move, and have just now got my first 4 IV Pokemon. The IV's are in the right place I just need a perfect defense stat in order to get it to the 5 I want. I have spent All today and A little of the day before?

Also Is everstone not 100% guarantee of nature and ability? because I had two Pokemon which had same nature and ability at some point in the process in and I was still getting the wrong ability. I rarely got the wrong nature.

Hidden abilities are only passed down at an 80% rate from the mother only. If you're worried about normal abilities, you can change them in-game.
Everstone is 100% passed nature.
It usually takes me a single box to get a flawless Pokemon.

I taught the egg move and then went and deleted all the others. This way I don't have to take it out as often to keep generating eggs with egg moves. I take it out once it has 4 moves including egg and go delete the other three.

You take that noivern and give it an everstone
then you take one of the dittos with the perfect ivs that you want on your noiverns give it a Destiny knot adn put the two of them into the daycare.
Hatch the eggs they produce until you get a noibat with the ivs and ability you want and then repeat with the next ditto

Okay I used safari dittos to Breed torchic with 4 perfect IV's.
I threw that one into day care with a ditto who had the opposite 2 perfect. iVs.
Does it matter which parent holds destiny knot?
Where do I go from here to get perfect nature, perfect IVs?
I keep breeding mons with not great IVs and bad natures.
If I breed an adamant one I can guarantee it will have shit IVs and then there's no point breeding with it.

so far I have a ferroseed and noibat that are more or less perfect (Sassy ferro with everything but spA and spe maxed, timid infiltrator noibat with everything but attack.)

Now I'm working on getting a perfect azumarill. Hatching adamant floatzels right now to get one w/ 4IVs, then I'll breed with a 3iv marill and hopefully get something good with aqua jet.

Also: not sure if we know yet, but is it possible to get aqua jet and belly drum on the same set in gen 6?

There's no need to go for nature on a Ditto.
At least that's how I see it, since I use a Synchronize-mon to catch the parent.

Keep the Bashful, Lonely/Relaxed and Modest/Adamant.
If you really go for natures, the Jolly and Quiet one as well.

You need the Destiny Knot. Each Parent has 6 IVs, making 12. The Destiny Knot passes down 5 of those stats. You always need the Knot on one of them (usually the ditto, unless it has the nature you want).

Let's say you want a Froakie with perfect IVs in everything except Sp. Atk (totally making this shit up, just as an example).

You've managed to breed one with 31 IVs in HP, Atk and Def, and the nature you want. Luckily, you also have a Ditto with 31 IVs in Sp. Def and Speed. Put the everstone on the Froakie and Destiny Knot on the Ditto. Eventually, you should get some Froakies with 4 IVs (of if you're mega lucky, one with 5). Swap out the 3 IV Froakie for a 4 IV one, and swap out the Ditto too if you get one that has the IVs the other parent doesn't have.

You want to phase out the Dittos as soon as possible. Same species makes eggs faster. When you have two Froakies with 4 IVs, you have a 1 in 24 chance of getting one with the 5 IVs you want.

I just got my Timid male with perfect IVs in Attack/Speed/Special Def. I also have an extra Ditto. So the Timid Parent gets the Everstone and my other Ditto has HP/SP.Atk/Sp.Def, that one gets the Knot until I get a timid female with perfect IVs in those field. Then from there one Greninja gets an Everstone and one gets the knot and its all chance. A little tricky, but I think I got it.

Not exactly ideal, but I can work with it.

Fuck life. The thought I've got another 5 before my team is complete is horrific. And it's not even going to be very useful for competitive battling, because they're all in the lower tiers and there wasn't much thought put into who the Pokemon are.

I just finished up my Honedge breeding spree. Came out with a bunch of 4 IV, a few incorrect 5 IV, and two perfect 31/31/31/x/31/0 Brave Honedge. I don't even know how imperative it is he be slow as possible, but the I've found a lot of times moving second with Aegislash lets his defense form take the hit first rather than his much more frail offense form, when using any attack other than Shadow Sneak of course. I'm also curious is Gyro Ball is at all viable on him, maybe in a Choice Band set.

Frisk is useful as fuck. If you have trouble with sub sets then Infiltrator would be the ability of choice, but being able to scout out a pokemon's hold item? Very useful.

I meant something to resist / count fighting considering when I type change 3 out of the 4 types I have take super effective damage from fighting type attacks. I feel as though it might make me easy to predict or give me a disadvantage against fighting types.

Oh you can switch out a move for Extrasensory, or breed a new one with Psychic. Hp Poison might be decent for resisting, but it doesn't have much coverage only Grass/Fairy Types, although I'm not sure about IVs for HP.
Another Egg Move is toxic spikes, if you want to set up against fighting types.

Shadow sneak is a good alternative because it makes you immune to fighting. And greninja's defenses are so bad you're not even likely going to survive most hits

HP Electric would just be entirely for Water Types, Just my opinion, but hitting them Neutral is enough, Which Extrasensory would do, against everything except for Slowking, Jellicent, and Starmie. If you are going for 4 attacking moves Dark Pulse would really cover everything. You would have to switch out against faster Fighting Type revenge killers though.

You could use U-turn for momentum utility, or Shadow Sneak for a priority immune to fighting, but physical moves won't be useful other than that for a Special Greninja.

So
Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
Dark Pulse
Extrasensory/U-turn/Shadow Sneak

That's my opinion.

If the fighting types are faster than me then U turn wouldn't help. I feel like they would try to finish my quick with mach punch so regardless if a fighting type is faster than me I might have to switch out anyway.

So definitely either shadow sneak or extrasensory.

When I looked in terms of based stats there are no fighting types that outspeed greninja. However with choice scarf a few might.

Ferrothorn is a great grass type

Sorry I'm new to team building and am trying to make a solid fire/water/grass core.

Water: Greninja
Fire: Blaziken ( Need a mega and it fits)

I think I'm might use shadow sneak, extra sensory is an amazing attack however I fear getting OHKO'd by mach punch. I'm pretty sure nothing with mach punch can outspeed greninja is it might be the safe choice.

I alternatively could go for a hard switch when faced with one of these fighting types allowing me to keep extra sensory.

Also I'm having a aren't time finding some good special walls that aren't blissey.

Scizor will outspeed your shadow sneak, you need to be really good at predicting to pull shadow sneak. keep that in mind.

A bulky grass would be best, Tangrowth or Ferroseed. If you want Grass Damage, I know Lilligant can work, but extremely fragile while setting up.

Everyone else has been saying how quick and easy it is for "perfect IVs" and I'm breeding with perfect IVs with destiny knot and the everstone and still getting nowhere...

Well you wanted a Ghost that fits this role, and I can't really think of any others able to do so.
Special Walls weren't all that rare, Blissey being the best one, but 2 new ones were introduced in Gen 6 Florges with base 154 Sp.Def, and Goodra with Base 150

Oh Fuck, I'm retarded, Shield Aegislash has 150 Defense in each. Could work as a Dual Wall too. I think it might be a little less than Eviolite Dusclops, but you have plenty of other options to go with it. There is also Kings Shield.

But Doublade, and Aegislash are definitely the best Ghost type walls. It's really not done much if at all ever. But Nick can run, a defensive Aegislash. 252HP 252Sp.Def if he needs a Special Wall. Kings Shield, Toxic, Rest/Protect. Holding a Chesto or Leftovers.
