Showdown does not offer 6th Gen VGC style play right now so the best practice I'm going to get is on Wifi. If any other simulators offers it I'm not bothering because the opponents one needs to worry about are Japanese and Smogon.

Evasion is a valid strategy that is used, arguably in the lower qualifying matches of VGC. It is valid regardless, and it's just as easy to counter as dragon dance.
