The anime hasn't been looking good since Sinnoh saga ended, perhaps even before that.

Just compare Charizard from Kanto/Johto with Charizard from Unova, it looks fucking ridiculous.

By the way has Ash gotten a Fennekin yet? And if so, what gender is it? It should be male due to the gender ratio, but because of the anime's retarded tendency to disregard facts to appeal to fans I wouldn't be surprised if they made it female because 'it looks female'.
