I'm not going to lie, I was unimpressed by most all of the gym leaders this gen.
The only one that I REALLY liked was Valerie, I would say she's one of the best looking pokegirls ever.

Am I alone in this opinion?

It's normal. These gym leaders are a massive step back from the involvement they had in gen 5.

Wulfric does a few things but nothing special, Korrina is involved with mega evos so she's going to stand out, then you have the furry otherkin known as Valerie.

Who stands out because she's a furry otherkin that constantly cosplays as fairy Pokemon, has Sylveon eyes, and is attracted to you purely because you're able to put up enough of a fight that she feels like a Pokemon in the middle of battle.

Yeah this. Compared to Gen.5, all the gym leaders were boring IMO. Design wise they seemed interesting, but most of the time they were just lifeless NPCs.

Honestly I don't think we're getting a Z, I think we're getting some kind of X2/Y2 set in another region where you go back to Kalos in the postgame.

Gen6 actually has ~150 new Pokemon, we've just only seen half of them.

Viola was alright, if you don't mind Bianca clones with less curves.

Korrina, I want to see without the helmet at least once so I can start requesting porn and fetish stuff of her (fetish more than porn).

Olympia's a mixed bag. I don't mind older women, because Drasna, Socialite and the female veteran are pure sex. It's just that hair I don't like.

Valerie's the clear winner here, sporting a unique design and feels more in place to hang with previous Gen's Gym Leaders in terms of fanart ideas.

I don't even mind her eyes. The only thing is that they feel more at home with a different series really.

Gen 5 made all the gym leaders too good by giving them all parts in the plot and huge chunks of backstory and information for them all. They were all characters. Elesa was friends with Skyla. Brycen was an ice ninja guy who quit his job as a gym leader to star in movies. Clay was a huge entrepreneur with a kind heart. Iris had this whole thing about being a dragon trainer in training by Drayden to the point where she becomes champion. The chefs were The Shadow Triad Then they all helped you fight Plasma, cleared up some obstacles for you, helped you on your journey, and more.

In Gen 6 they just all went back to appearing after you beat plasma or cleared out some obstacle and told you to meet them in their gym. None of them got any exposure whatsoever except Korrina and Wulfric.

This the Gym Leaders should have been more involved.

Have it be the Rock Guy who gives you the fossil and have him help chase Team Flare out of that cave

Have it be Clemont who helps with the Power Plant.

Give the Grass, Psychic and Fairy Gym leaders SOMETHING TO DO besides just sit in their gyms.

The Gym Leaders SHOULD have been the ones trying to stop Team Flare from sacrificing Pokemon, not your 2 shitty barely rivals rivals

I agree completely. One of Gen V's strengths was how the Gym Leader's were actually characters and actually pushed the plot forward.

I mean, remember near the end when they all showed up to fight Ghetsis' sages? That was fucking awesome. I really expected more this gen.

Even in Diamond/Pearl/Platinum most of the Gym leaders were doing shit and not just waiting in their gyms for you for the most part
