Megas are pointless, for the most part.

A defensive mega is inherently bad, due to being unable to carry items like leftovers.

Offensive megas are almost always weaker than their regular form equipped with a simple life orb and much weaker than their specs/banded counterparts.

So, unless your mega gets a massive increase in speed and enough power to somewhat match a life orb, it's garbage.
