I have a hard time keeping entertained if there is no objective

Collect mega stones and complete looker missions have objectives and can be completed. But raise competitive pokemon and battle online have no objective so while fun, they don't keep me forever

I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of postgame stuff in this game

Well with something like Cut locations, you have the HM early in the game, so as you explore every inch of Kalos on your journey forward, you can check every Cut location. But you get the Waterfall HM very late in the game, so you have to backtrack to hit all the waterfall locations and you likely don't remember where each one is.
There's nothing particularly special about them aside from the fact that most of them hide some great items, like very useful TMs.

Mewtwo is in Pokemon Village
Zygarde is in Terminus Cave, at the very end/basement
Kanto Legend Bird you encounter roaming, like other roaming legends, you do the Max repel trick to encounter it. After encountering it 10 times, it settles at the Sea Spirit's Den where you can catch it. Use youtube if you need more info.
