i don't understand what the hell just happened. i'm doing an in game thing called a battle institute, where you just test your skills against trainers in game with high intelligence and good strategy. so i send out gengar, mega evolve it, so it's speed is through the roof and i've ev trained it for speed. my opponent's pokemon both have less speed than it, yet EVERY pokemon on the field, including my own who also had less speed, were all able to outspeed it and i lost the battle because of it. what the flying fuck?

my opponent had talonflame, and sawk. sunny day was in effect. my pokemon that outsped gengar was a timid florges. someone please explain to me how this could have possibly happened.
