Actually Pin Missile does more damage than Megahorn. It's Arm Thrust that loses out significantly to Close Combat, which in turn negates the improvements that Hera received in his defensive stats. However, I still don't think any of the megas are inferior to their non-mega form.

all the bulk of bulkydos, all the attacking power of a standard set. what's the issue?

been using it with great success in 3v3s. you never get the chance to switch in more than twice, so there's no point in having intimidate once you switch in. you're safe from fighting/grass moves the first turn because you haven't mega evolved yet, and if you get a DD in you're pretty much set to sweep.
