I went from Modest to Timid, and now Hasty and it's by far the best.
Sacrificing bit of damage for ultimate speed is essential, and you can also cover some of your lost damage with powerful items such as Life Orb and Expert Belt.

The only reason to run physical is stronger U-Turn and Acrobatics. Otherwise Special is better due to higher stat and special movepool with higher BP moves.

well it's debatable, IF you really rely on shadow sneak, its ok, but covering fighting with Extrasensory has it's advantages as a Special sweeper.

U Turn is used on both builds but im sure it does wonders as a physical.

I think Naive is better honestly. Lowering one of the defenses has its advantage as it lets you use your attack and special attack to the best advantage. Most priority moves are physical so you'd want the defense to be high so that greninja just might be able to survive a hit. And I doubt that Greninja can take a special attack head on

Speed definitely

and the rest depends on your movepool, if you want mostly special + U-Turn then dump the rest into SpA

Physical Greninja must carry both Water Shuriken as priority against faster foes or scarfed mons. Waterfall for consistent damage output. Night Slash or U-Turn and Acrobatics.

I must say, if you have Protean Greninja you almost can do whatever the hell you want.
But if you're still stuck with Torrent, a Mixed Set with Waterfall, U-Turn, Dark Pulse and Ice Beam @ Life Orb maybe can be viable.

I would never make Greninja a mixed attacker. It lacks the base stats and spread to do both effectively. It's either one or the other, like Nidoking.
Maybe if it had more stat points like Infernape and Electravire it could be a mixed attacker
