Lack of weaknesses certainly wasn't the reason Sableye was used. Dark/Ghost is a trash typing.

Yeah well you also get no resistances aside from poison (lol) and fighting/psychic immunity. That does not a good tank (Spiritomb) make. Not to mention the STAB is completely redundant.

Actually, the reason why Sableye was used is because he could realiably counter many threats without worrying about movesets.
