Those of you who have found shiny's in the safari: Did you tend to find 2 or 3 in a row then none for an extended period of time? From most of the posts I'm reading on forums people seem to be going into the safari, quickly finding a couple shiny's, then not finding any for an extended period of time. It just seems odd for stories to line up this well. It's probably just all luck still, but it's been bugging me lately.

The Friend Safari has annoyed me. Mine is actually useless - Pyroar and Pansear. Dunno what my third is yet, but I doubt it's anything good. And I'm stuck with it forever.

The general theory is that safaris seem to have a higher chance of having shinies akin to masuda's 1/1183 or whatever it was as opposed to the 1/5000 that it is normally. My personal theory is that someone at GF made it like this because you can't use the pokeradar in the friend zone or just to promote people making friends or some bullshit. Whether this is placebo or just people lying can't be determined because nobody has done any datamining apart from the new save dumps.

It just seems like it's gotta be more than the normal percent, maybe even more than Matsuda. In the past 2 days I've found 5 shiny's in the safari, but all in quick bursts. Super anecdotal I know, but I wish there was some better way to look into all of this.

I have a couple of theories since part of what determines shiny status last I checked was IVs.

Either 1) The increased shiny rate is an unintended consequence of the "Two guaranteed perfect IVs" trait of Safari pokemon or 2) The game checks friend codes against each other through an algorithm to determine how much the shiny rate is increased or 3) The more friends you have, the higher the rate.

Anybody know someone with a Fire safari that has a combination of Ninetales/Braixen/Pyroar/Fletchinder/Larvesta.
I have a few friends with 2 of them and then Pansear or Magmar as a third and I'm terrified of shiny hunting and getting the shiny Pansear.

If the one you MM'd is female, don't evolve it past a Braixen. Shiny Delphox looks worse than the regular Delphox and even if it's male it'll have a hard time pulling it off.

Actually, my problem is different.

I forgot about the stats being able to have 255 EVs each and I maxed out Sp. Atk and Speed with the rest in Sp. Def.

I heard from many people (about 50/50) that super training only brings it to 252 EVs in each stat, or that it brings it all the way to 255.
