I remember the statement being they weren't going to have DLC because they wanted it to be a complete game on its own.

But really, since we can't hack it, any event pokemon might as well not be coded into the game, it's not like we'd be able to find out.

Anyone trying to connect online would be told "Please download the Pokemon Z compatibility patch"

Connecting locally with someone who has Pokemon Z could do a patch through that aswell.
