Ended up getting an inkay parent (careful contrary with maxed hp, atk and sdef) and using it currently for matsuda. I'll probably go back and breed a better one later on.

how important are IVs? like how noticeable is the different between 31 and 28

>>15262948 Each IV accounts for 1 stat point, so the difference between 31 and 28 is not very noticeable, but the people who battle in the top competitive tiers shoot for the highest stats possible, so it can be the difference between losing or winning, espeically in a speed race. One extra Spe IV for the enemy could mean losing for your team. For the most part, though, as long as you have in the 25-31 range, your IVs are good.

Sun 27 Oct 2013 16:49:37 No. 15263647 Report >>15263268 If you're just starting, you could try for a lower amount of perfect IVs, it makes it take way less time. Something like a defensive pokemon that doesn't worry about speed, or just 3 most important stats (eg atk speed & hp).
Breeding as a whole is a hell of a lot less painful now, you can guarantee the nature, males can pass more things down in general & power items/destiny knot helps a ton too.
Remember you only have to go as far as you want to, and to plan stuff out properly ahead of time, it saves a ton of headache later on.

I have a question, when one uses a power item (not Destiny Knot) besides the main IV passed down, how are the other 5 decided? Random? If passed by parent, which one and how many?
