The only reason I have the patience to be doing this friend safari and not leave it for something else right now is because it's kind of an experiment to see if the RNG in the friend safari is a specific RNG, which I've forgotten the name of, but some other guy know, and I'm doing it mainly for him.
So basically even if I don't get a shiny, I'm stopping around 624-ish encounters, which is at least a goal to work towards.

So, when you guys are breeding using MM, do you go through the time with a parent that has 5 31 IVs and a good nature, and just pray for the best that your non-existent future shiny will have a decent spread? I'm still trying to get a damn Froakie with 5 IVs to be a good parent and I'm getting impatient because I want to fill my boxes with disappointments already.

With Destiny Knot, 5 IVs are passed from BOTH parents, not the only holding the item.

So on route 4 there's a semi-large patch of flowers near the entrance to lumiose that are yellow, then red, then yellow. If i pokeradar there and the chain moves from different color patches would that break the chain?

Just like red is found in red flowers and yellow is in yellow flowers.
Orange and white can be found in any though and are the rare two.
