You can't carry over items with the bank.
Either Nintendo will expand the game soon or I dunno.
You could find a Normal Gem as an item in the game so there should be the others as well.

Talonflame is ok, 1 trick birdy. I carry one around for when I see a team that I know is going to attempt to EQ me, but because its my only flyer.

I really don't get why people hate this name so much. We have Torchic, who is also a fire-bird with the exact same type of name. Gen I had Seel, Dewgong, Muk, etc. This generation we have fucking Goomy and Slurpuff. But for some reason everyone complains about Talonflame.
