I think that Lysandre is my favorite villain in the pokemon universe. I honestly feel bad for him,

He just seems really depressed. Sure you could just call him an emo, but I think he's cool.

He's just a rich, cynical asshole. The kind you'd actually find in real life, which makes him somewhat identifiable.

The only difference is he's actually trying to do something about it. Albeit, the wrong way.

I liked him, although Team Flare as a team sucked pretty badly (mainly because the grunts just ended up being assholes as opposed to people who wanted to help the world become better).

Honestly/ I'm divided on him.

On the one hand, his sadness really did show through. I really liked the scene when they show Shauna and Serena talking to him at the weapon core, they just looked like they felt really bad for him rather than being scared or anything.

On the other hand, having a misanthropic character in Pokemon is always a poor fit because nothing bad is ever shown, everyone seems happy, and the only horrible things that happen in the world are mostly implied and happened a long time ago.

Also, wanting to destroy the world and building a team full of selfish, rich hipsters kinda ruins his character.

lysandre will pull a trick such as a trapdoor to confine AZ when it was specifically meant for you. since he is immortal he survives the fall.

Someone mentioned in a another thread that they thought the twist would be that Lysandre was gathering up the very type of people he despised the most so he could use them to power his cannon.
