Quick question, /vp/.

I raised a Larvesta all the way to fucking 59 and evolved him to Volcarona before I realized it has a 4x weakness to bugs and motherfucking sneaky stones.

Fuck. I needed a fast special sweeper, but now I'm not sure it will be worth it. I've never used Volcarona before. Is it worth it?

Other than Flamethrower and Quiver Dance I'm at a loss for a good moveset as well.

I love Volcarona, he's fucking top bro tier for me. Quiver Dance and Fiery Dance are the shit, then bug buzz, and the last slot for team coverage. I run a Bulkarona he's a fucking beast man. Hidden Stones don't even bother me, plus I always run a rapid spinner

when i started my b2 up my friend gave me a larvestsa and that fucker was so sick. When he evolved into volcorona i got his ass to level 100 he had 308 speed and 298 special attack. He was a god. He was also my coolest egg hatcher.

I haven't used one in XY yet, but I used them in Gen V both on random Wi-Fi and on simulators and it very rarely failed me. A fantastic team member, even with the x4 rock weakness.

I'm running an Adamant Scyther on my team as well, which I am now also realizing has the same 4x weakness and peeking pebbles issue as Volcarona. Should I replace him?

Are crazy OP?
This thing can hit like a truck, it has double weakness to rock and solid snake minerals and yet it's one of biggest threat in the OU metagame. Quiver dance can set up certain death for the opponent if he get a switch wrong and Fiery dance adds even more power to the sweep.
I run a Focus Sash Volcarona 252 SAtk/Speed on Showdown with
Quiver Dance
Fiery Dance
Giga Drain
Bug Buzz
as a scout and most of the time I get the chance to quiver on switch and wreck some serious shit.
Once I swept an entire team without taking damage.
It only has to fear priorities, namely Aqua Jet, really bulky physical mons, Heatran and Tyranitar, but it's really good.

This. That moveset is everything you need for Volcarona.
Of course, if you want a fast sweeper it would be wise to get a spinner/defogger but Volcarona is worth it.

Their base stats are the same, and I already have a steel type. I was looking for a fast physical sweeper and was suggested it. It does surprisingly well, or I thought so. I might still evolve it especially with the mega, but I haven't decided.
