How accurate is this image, /vp/? I've been fishing for a while with a Suction Cups pokemon in the first slot in my party on the corner spot on Route 8, but no luck so far. I read somewhere else that you need the PokeRadar so that you get the same pokemon over and over, but this image says finding a different pokemon doesn't break the chain. Any insight?

You can't use the pokeradar for this method

And yes it works i've caught 5 shinies within a day or so, it's worthless and devalues shinies

i tried this method last night immediately after hearing about it and had a shiny goldeen within 20 minutes

chain of 33, i believe. also, was done with a good rod on route 22 (i wanted carvanha)

I fished at bottom right image, messed up at 62 according to the fisherman, and never saw a shiny.

What breaks the chain is:
Capturing a 'mon
Moving your trainer
Not fishing anything

getting a different pokemon is ok

also it's pretty random, i've gotten shinies as low as 20 casts and i've gone up to 100 without seeing a shiny

I don't know if catching a pokemon breaks your chain or not, but I caught my shiny Remoraid, fished for maybe, 20 more pokemon, and the fishing guy said my chain was something like 183.

Suction Cups in your first party slot makes the rock thing pointless. The whole reason they say to fish near rocks is to force encounters, because not getting a bite breaks the chain.

But with a pokemon with Suction Cups in the front of your team, you always get bites. Thus the chain never breaks (Unless you reel in too early or too late).

What's a good false swipe pokemon without spore (nervous about poison)? I'm using Pangoro but it doesn't have any status moves.

You know who I'm actually having trouble catching? Fucking Basculin. It's catch rate is so low that it kills with Double Edge before I can catch it.
